Health and Safety

Health and Safety is an integral part of Sodexo’s mission to improve Quality of Life:

  • Every day, in 80 countries, Sodexo serves 75 million consumers, all of whom rely on our health and safety systems

  • Every day, our 428,000 employees rely on Sodexo to provide safe working conditions

  • Every day, our clients, and the wider communities in which we operate, trust Sodexo to provide safe services

For all of these reasons, health and safety is a global strategic priority for the Group.  Sodexo is committed to a global health and safety culture and world class health and safety performance.  We know that integrating health and safety into everything we do minimizes risk to people and property.

Ensure high safety standards

To ensure high safety standards at all our sites, we:

 implement our global food safety, safety and hygiene policy throughout the Group
 harmonize our Facilities Management HSE policies and define global standards
 develop and implement safety programs with our clients and suppliers
 define key indicators to monitor policy implementation and safety initiatives
 implement self-inspection, audit programs, incident responses, analysis and learning.

Quality, Health and Safety professionals

As our clients increasingly expect integrated and global solutions, our international network of Quality, Health and Safety professionals are collaborating to ensure the safety of our consumers by seeing to it that our suppliers' products are of the highest quality with the best available level of traceability and by applying quality standards at our sites.

In 2009, Sodexo launched a Global Food Safety Policy. In 2010, we deployed a Global Incident Reporting and Response System to improve our capability to manage food and occupational safety on an international basis. We also are developing global Facilities Management safety policies and standards
